One of the downsides of being a food snob is the fact I hate chemicals. Yeah, it is pretty unreasonable of me to try and hunt down food that doesn't utilize the 300+ additives, chemicals and "natural flavors" that adorn the food we eat these days. Being something of a physically fit person, my face sinks when I look at the energy bars from mainstream corporations that have so many ingredients, you need a magnifying glass just to read them all (provided if you can read them). And then the taste! They claim they are brownies but they taste more like weird taffy with about the same consistency. Is this what healthy people should be doing? Is this the kind of crud we should subject ourselves to during our post-workout protein bulge?!
No more! You see, my friend Christa Parsons and her husband Jon are trying to build a company that will provide a real, tasty and healthy alternative. That alternative is PHOD, or Plant Healthy Organic Delectables. Dairy free, gluten free and paleo friendly, you can actually count the ingredients on less than two hands and even pronounce them! PHOD Bars (which come in multiple flavors) and the more recent addition of Pro-Nuts (protein powered, baked doughnuts!) are already being passed around and sold in various farmer's markets and coffee shops here in Tucson. But now they want to expand, and the only way they can do this get a small business grant.
It won't take too much of your time, just a simple vote when you either enter "PHOD" or "85748." 250 votes will get them into the next round, which is why I need your help to help them out.
So if you want to help a small, successful business expand and be able to provide their healthy alternative to the masses, then please vote for PHOD and get them to the next level. Thank you!
